Templeton has had a spending/revenue imbalance for many years. People don't seem to realise this, and vote to expand Senior spending, Fire/ALS spending, and to allow the number of employees to creep up. Spending has increased at a greater rate than income. I hope voters decide how much they want to spend and stick to it. Selectmen should plan on reducing town expenses accordingly.
ReplyDeleteI agree with that statement.
ReplyDeleteMONTY TECH ** Here is a timely article (10.2017) about regional schools and funding
ReplyDelete“
A major problem cited by the audit is the lack of state support for regional schools. In the past, the state offered more incentives for schools to regionalize. Today, the state gives regional districts a small stipend for the first five years of operation, starting at $50 per student and decreasing annually.“ https://www.google.com/amp/s/articles.masslive.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/10/regional_school_districts_face.amp
