Templeton Insurance Advisory committee is suppose to be made up of seven employees and one retiree, and they seem to meet during work hours, usually in the morning. If anyone checks, insurance for employees is one of the largest items on the town spending plan and it would seem in the best interest of the town, as in the people who pay for it, that these meetings would be in the evening when most of them could attend. So why are these meetings in the morning during the work day? I guess the employees do not wish to take time off from their evenings and hold these open meetings when people could attend. Perhaps this committee wishes to have the fewest people in attendance as possible. That would appear to be the case.Meeting in the morning when most people cannot attend reminds me of how the old personnel board use to meet, at around 8:00 A.M, so much for open transparency.
