The Town of Templeton is pleased to announce an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) for the operations of a Salt Brine Production System with the Towns of Winchendon and Hubbardston. This new agreement approved by the Select Board will help improve snow operations for the Town of Templeton as well as for the Towns of Winchendon and Hubbardston. The Agreement can be found here. This IMA will continue in effect through June 30, 2026.
Those pictured in the photo from left to right: Templeton Town Administrator Adam Lamontagne, Templeton Director of Public Services Bob Szocik, Winchendon Interim Town Manager Bill McKenney, Hubbardston Town Administrator Nate Boudreau.

Because of the choice of brine plants Winchendon and Hubbardston want, this will cost Templeton residents $3,300.00 more than needed. They looked at 2 different systems and Winchendon and Hubbardston DPW's went with the system that costs $9,000.00 more, so each town is spending $3,300.00 more than needed.

  1. This another vague agreement that doesn't denote a "due date" for yearly payments?

Jeff, does this make any of our present equipment obsolete? I only say this as we are constantly buying items but rarely disposing of them thru surplus auctions as denoted...........hmmm

  2. No it does not replace anything or make anything obsolete.
