Dear Board:
We are pleased to inform you that Chapter 90 local transportation aid funding for Fiscal Year 2018 will total $200 million statewide, pending final legislative approval.
This letter certifies that, pending final passage of the bond authorization, your community's Chapter 90 apportionment for Fiscal Year 2018 is $ 333,245. This apportionment will automatically be incorporated into your existing 10-year Chapter 90 contract, which will be available on the MassDOT website, http://www.massdot.state.ma.us/chapter90.

So it would appear that if this money for road work was not used to buy equipment, the holes in the roads could be repaired, before the sand is swept up so people could drive down Templeton roads without hitting all those holes out there. There does not seem to be a lack of funds, no matter what the cost of the material is, it seems to be again a management issue. Filling in the holes on Town roads is providing a service and that is the primary job of a government (in my opinion) and this service is really lacking. The only thing not lacking is excuses. Then again, when a selectmen meeting is not packed with people demanding action, do not expect much action other than the usual excuse, "we do the best we can with what we have."

So JEFFY knows how the use of chapter 90 money is decided. He is being obtuse with this type of post as he knows all chapter 90 money needs approval from the BOS after much discuss. So the question now becomes how much did the BOS under the JEFFY watch spend for cold patching of roads?
ReplyDeleteI bet we don't get the answer any time soon like other points i make that do go unanswered.
Engineering Royalston rd has a cost and just like the Baldwinville rd deal couldn't happen until it was spent on the paper work.
But the great quiter in chief knew that and chooses to make it look like the roads are the fault of lack of service. We go fill all complaints in a timely manner.
We do this our best with what we have "left". Jeff left off the left,no surprise!
At least we have a crew for this month not like a previous year when we were on a 6 week layoff.
So was the Henderson plow purchased with the snow and ice charge card Jeffy, BOS chief??? Never got a answer for that one.
NO CHAPTER 90 MONEY IS USED FOR OPTIMIX COLD PATCH.
ReplyDeleteTHE MONEY FOR IT COMES FROM OUR HIGHWAY EXPENSES ACCOUNT.
THIS ACCOUNT IS LOW EVERY JUNE AS IT HAS BEEN REDUCED FOR BUDGET PURPOSES.
SO IF JEFFY THINKS CHAPTER 90 MONEY IS USED FOR THE POT HOLE REPAIR HE HAS BEEN MISLED COULD BE HE DOESN'T REMEMBER WHAT THE USES ARE FOR CHAPTER 90 AS HE WAS NOT IN CHARGE FOR VERY LONG DISTRACTED AND GAVE UP.
Did the JEFFY BOS do it any differently?
