Templeton will cry about the "bare bones" budget after the joint town meeting. Interested taxpayers should take not of the Legal Notice in the Gardner News. Templeton plans to squander the taxpayer's money on "monument style" electronic bulletin boards.

Just for your information the "electronic bulletin boards are funded by a Grant from Rural Affairs within the Executive Office of Economic Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It was all part of a $200,000 grant for economic development.

Employee time was wasted on these grants, and more employee time will be wasted typing in nonsense "alerts" about flu shots, the flea circus and other such tripe. I wouldn't be surprised to eventually discover a raise for the employee assigned these deep responsibilities.

And FYI taxpayers are the source of all government funds. It's a poor argument "if we don't waste this money, someone else will." Plus, who will pay the electric bills for these inane and useless devices? Taxpayers. Zero benefit, forever costs!
