Massachusetts House approves state budget for FY26.
Good news for Templeton. What does that mean? Surely, there is never good news for Taxpayers. We're a long way past the days when Jack Strott, Dana Putnam and others had a philosophy different from today. Keep taxes to a minimum, don't coddle town employees. Authentic, New England, Yankee governance.
Every elected official today has an agenda, driven by the desire for self-aggrandizement. Leave their mark on the town at the expense of taxpayers. Gilman-Waite is a typical example.
The tax rate has not changed much but the valuations sure have. So have to costs of everything. We made a buck 65 an hour and a six pack cost a buck 50 and bread was 20 or 30 cents a loaft and gas was 25 cents per gallon, times change.
