Templeton 3rd qtr. meals tax =
$17,630.00. Total so far = $63,686.00.
Looking back to fy2021, 3rd qtr (March) has always been lowest qtr., with June climbing back up, hope that trend continues for a fifth year.
If it provided tax relief to homeowners it would be beneficial. All it provides is money to spend. The number of town-owned vehicles increased. It added budget pressure because Templeton Management is undisciplined. With the apprentice of the apprentice of Carter as Town Admin we cannot anticipate any change.
I have given some thought to your statement. We cannot go on like we have, I do mean spending money because it is in front of our eyes. Our financial history as a town is sickening. I mean that literally. We need a professional Town Administrator. If we had one after Carter left, we would not be in the financial mess we are in now. It does look like we will be in better shape with a intelligent Board of Selectmen for the next few years. This is good, but we as a town need consistency. We need a team effort in the BOS office that extends to the other departments. Hopefully, we can get on our financial feet and stay there. Bev.
We can hope, but as money gets tighter I think people will find it hard to eat out. 😟
