I looked into one property listed in the list and found it confusing.
Central St- The property has been forclosed in 1990 taken by Winchendon Saving bank The forclosure appeal expired and in forclsure was final in 1991. who was sold a year later to Athol savings bank. The propert was taken for taxes by the Town of Templeton on 10/22/1993 and again on 9/29/2003.
These uncollected sewer fees are inclusive of 92,93,04,1995 all of which appear to be after the forclosure, tax takings.
Also in 1991 a ederal tax lien was placed on property.
At what point do we stop billing individuals whose property ws forclosed and taken by the town for back taxes..........Seems a little unjustified to this taxpaye!
Why is the property in the former owner's name ? This matter needs to be resolved. No-one has used this building in years so I doubt anything as been used for water or sewer. It is also unfair to the neighborhood to keep this property in the shape it is in. A small business could have put the space to some use.
If you look up the property on the town web site you will see that it is still owned by the person of record. Not the town of Templeton. He may be deceased but family still owns it.
What dont you get? After tax taking and forclosure the bills for 92,93,94,95 are not his........They are the owner which was Winchendon savings bank then Athol Savings Bank
Just so you know, Mark V died in 2013 so colllecting anything from a guy whose been dead for 11 years isn't likely particularly when its been forclosed and taken for taxes.........lol
The property has not been taken for taxes Not Owned By the Town. Why do you think it took so long to have the Previous Renter removed from the property.Had to go thru the court process to have him removed for no business license. Papers were served to the owner of record ,which is his wife which needed to be found. Do your Homework. NOT OWNED BY THE TOWN
Please explain how the forclosure from Winchndon bank in 1991 was resolved. To me it appears everything after the forclosure by winchendon bank is in error.
This is the biggest failure of dividing the Water Department from the Sewer Department. In most town or cities, both charges come on one bill. You pay them both. Here as I am told, some people pay the Water Department and don't pay the Sewer Department. When the Sewer Department tries to get paid they get stonewalled. The Water Department won't shut off the water because "they got paid" ! This forces the sewer department to go to court, that costs every sewer user in the end. This is just a other of the problems our town government has. It's failure to fix what was done wrong years ago. Put both charges on the same bill. Water and Sewer don't have to get into bed together but they could manage to do that for the benefit of their customers.
You are absolutely right. It does seem the Water Department just maintained what they had to with some additions. What will happen when customers realize there has been no money set aside for water main replacements. What does it cost them for the constant water main breaks ? This is a very sad situation.

Deletebut why is it still listed in his name after 2 tax takings and one forclosure over 20 years ago?
DeleteWho cares just pay your bill. No free rides

DeleteRegistry of deeds Book 13189 page 166 dated January 8, 1991. Winchendon Savings Bank forclosed on property
DeleteIn Book 13189 Page 165 list the possession document staating Winchendono savings Bank hasa taken possession
Then in Book 13317 page 387 state that all taxes, water, municpal liens are paid dated march 11, 1991.
In June o 1992 is when Mark sold/transfered property to wife.....
The entire registry documentation looks like a prime example of templeton chaos.......
So there you go owned by his wife not taken by the town. If the water was on there is a sewer bill that goes with that. that's why there is a tax lien

DeleteHow was forclosure resolved?
Who has been paying the taxes since 1991?

ReplyDeleteIt was a good move for Skelton to mix electricity and water. His pension reflects the salary bump he got. That was the point, after all.
