Depot Pond with Baldwinsville water supply dam, listed as private owned and a significant hazard on Ma dam safety website. Listed as verified. Looks like state already checked this one out and listed it as significant hazard.

  1. This would be funny if it wasn't so typical Templeton.

We have a pond in Baldwinville that sits at an elevation listed as 895' above sea level. Baldwinville, at the Bridge next to our Emergency Management Building they are trying to secure $3million to update (cause its old and we wont to make it new on taxpayer dime, at state Union rate), but I digress. The Bridge is listed as sitting at 846' above Sea Level.
30'-50' below this Failing dam sits Central Street in Baldwinville. The Emergency management building, tctv garage, Ambulance and Fire.

This seems like the stage for a "disaster flick on TV" Can you see it?
We have a significant rain event, dam fails, EMD, FIRE, Ambulance all wiped out when the dam failed.

How comfortable should people feel with possibly 30 million gallons over their head that they are told will fail, but dont worry, 2 of the bridges you have to exit are failing also........we've known for 5-6 years but our "Efficient execution" of services hasn't touched them yet.............

There are pictures of the Baldwinville Fire Station with the front corner if the building missing due to the 1938 flood. The idea of spending more money on this building is ridiculous. We need a centrally located building. When you are on the further end of Templeton or East Templeton lives can be lost because services are not centralized. Lets do one big project that will serve the people in this town for years. We have made mistakes. The biggest being the police station. Too much money is spent on a crap of a building and we are not done yet. Say enough !
