For information only and it is early so check the math.

division of local services records show Templeton free cash as:

July 1, 2017 - $1,042,588.00

July 1, 2018 - $1,572,732.00

July 1, 2019 - $1,455,158.00

July 1, 2020 - $1,327,538.00

My addition shows total of $5,398,016.00

records from accountant show roughly one million saved (general stabilization, capital stabilization, OPEB)

Selectmen have spent 4/5's of free cash, I am still working on how we have changed from getting some money and spending it all, versus being fiscally responsible.

The addition could take a while if you utilize common core math.

  1. The town of Templeton Financial Management Policy calls for:

The Town will endeavor to annually generate free cash of 5 percent of the prior year’s omnibus
    operating budget, less school debt.

We know Julie Richards feels, "if it ain't broke why fix it", well lets see how well this works.

2020 Templeton Budget was $17,164,201 including school costs except debt.
$17,164,201 x 5% = $858,210.05 yet our Board and Administrator ended up with $1,327,538 for an OVERCHARGE to taxpayers of $469,327.95.

FY 2019 Templeton Budget was $15,961,671 + $470,000 for Public Safety for a total of $16,431,671.
$16,431,671 x 5% = $821,583.55 yet our Board and Administrator ended up with $1,455,158 for an OVERCHARGE to taxpayers of $ 633,574.45

As you can see. The BOS budget(Julie says its theirs) has overcharged Templeton taxpayers over $1,000,000 in the last 2 years alone.

I'd say thats pretty damn BROKEN wouldn't you Ms. Richards? The BOS still is not following its own Policies and it must stop!

I'm done supporting this type of overcharge.

Oh, just so you know 2018 was even worse and almost double what the policy calls for.

Pretty sad, yet barely a peep (other than Wil) from the financial watchdogs on the Advisory Committee!

    Taxpayers feeling good?????
