May 6, 1996 - Templeton Annual Town Meeting

Article 46 To see if the Town will vote to Raise and Appropriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money to operate the Sewer Department; or to take any other action relative thereto.

On a motion duly made and seconded the Town voted that the following sums be appropriated to the Sewer Enterprise fund to be expended under the direction of the Sewer Commissioners:

Salaries and wages . . . . .  . $125,382.00
Expenses . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  $  57,126.49
Total . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .   $182,508.49

and that one hundred eighty two thousand, five hundred eight dollars and forty nine cents be raised as follows: one hundred twenty thousand dollars be raised from sewer receipts and sixty two thousand five hundred eight dollars and forty nine cents be raised by taxation.
Passed.

Why is one enterprise fund / department of the Town treated differently than another? What happened with :our amazing employees? what happened with he selectmen standing up for it's employees? Is denying or holding back raises the way selectmen intend to fill positions and keep people working for the Town? A great plan!

Perhaps time for a tax under ride and a town vote to de fund the position of Town Administrator.
I wonder how long it will take for legal action or MCAD action to be taken by those employees who appear to have been singled out for pure political reasons.
Selectmen trying to take over the sewer department - again! History is repeating itself.

  1. Cleaning up, or trying to after our kitchen fire, I could not get to this meeting. I hope the Sewer Commissioners voted to hire a lawyer to protect their department and their employees. Why is out T.A. stirring the pot ? To get his hands on their money or to get more people to push around. Maybe he thinks he can take you eye off the fact a couple of departments in town hall are not running like a well oiled machine !
