This information is available in 2015 Annual Town Report - selectmen should read it, especially john columbus. It is a report from the Advisory Committee. So the reserve fund has been used in recent times.

The Advisory Board reserve fund is for emergency problems only. If this can be used, it is with the approval of the Advisory Board. Do we have issues in town that would fit the bill ? I would say so. Problems with a fire truck might just fit the bill. Oops, someone went to the TA first ! He said no ! It seems our TA and our selectmen have plans for that money !! Let's hope not fixing that pump on the fire truck does not come back to bite us.
ReplyDeleteI think those funds should NOT have come from the highway at all as that is where the emergency reserve could have been used. You are right he said no and there was no vote of the Board as the repair was made. Now it's almost presumed you will have funds left and that may not be so. I thino some of the ideas presented in the long run will be a better way to do business and look at long term costs. But, I don't like all of it and until I see a better set of plans it's a no go for me. The 160,000 debt exclusion mistake is a big one. One that our employees should not have to pay for.
