Somebody must have some pull, there is a help wanted post on Templeton Town website for a vacancy on the housing authority. Maybe someone with some tree/logging experience can apply as they have a problem with a TREE growing out of the chimney over there.

Funny thing is, there has been a request from the Advisory Committee in, since about July, for an opening on said committee but somehow it cannot make it on the Templeton Town web site??

Perhaps any selectmen who read this page can give us a hand, although we do have some capable people on the Advisory Committee. (but we are only appointed so we may need help from some elected folks) Personally I hope those elected folks are busy trying to come up with solutions to the budget boo boos they have before them now (the selectmen) so they can get it to the Advisory Committee in time so we may look them over in detail. I would hate to see them send something over at the last minute.

Now I have to go and try to watch the meeting of the elected Board of Assessors as I understand there might be some unprofessional behavior from a town administrator on there. I have to try and watch it and see.

  1. I've been looking at this TREE for a few years. I finally stopped and took a picture a few years ago.

Besides the obvious harm it is probably doing to the chimney, it's sort of fascinating!

Every year the leaves change color and fall off. I wonder if it will make it through the next winter. In the Spring, it comes back to life. I wonder where it's getting enough water to survive? Especially this year with the drought.

I've seen trees struggling to make it this year and they are planted in the ground.

Just something that crosses my mind every now and then. Especially when I travel on Baldwinville Road.

Maybe logging experience should be a requirement for the Templeton Housing Authority.

  2. Too bad the two of you didn't take of this while you were selectman.

  3. Puffy-
Not a selectmen issue. THA is a separate entity. The "superior board" has no say in what goes on at the housing authority

  7. Puffy, welcome over here to my sand box. Now what do you think needs explaining to me? That the THA is a separate elected entity? I do not believe I ever stated that the BOS can tell the THA what to do, however, since the housing authority provides services to Templeton Town residents and since the selectmen are the elected ones who are suppose to work for the residents, they can, and it has been done before, to write a letter and inquire about said tree and that is what I have said. Lately, it seems that one almost has to embarrass selectmen for action to be taken. So keep huffin and puffin, you will how ever, find this is no house of straw.

  8. Huff, perhaps you can explain one thing to me, why do you need to hide behind a fantasy wall of huff? Unable to come out? Unwilling to be known for your opinions. I do not lose any sleep over it mind you, but it aligns your comments right up there with writings on the bathroom stall. And those get painted over or washed away. Monday is cleaning day!

  9. Jeff, I remain anonymous because I've repeatedly seen the personal attacks from "your side", for lack of a better term. And I refuse to open the dialogue to personal attacks & prefer to stay on topic of the issue at hand.

If you notice, I only post when absolute erroneous information is being disseminated. Ie,the illegal planning board vote.

    1. So Puffy, it seems I can remember more than a few times you have handed out your share of "personal attacks." At least when of us has anything to say we do not hide behind a fake name, and we have the facts to back whatever we have to say up.

  12. It's not me! I would never hide behind an anonymous name.

  13. Anonymous, why would call out someone on that manner? You don't even know and you were proven wrong. April has always stood up and spoken as written as herself. We need to remember that all of us have our own feelings and opinions on matters and we should listen and make respectful commentary. This is why community members probably don't want to be part of dialog here. Jeff points out things that he feels are incorrect or wants answers on. That's great!! Be involved. April and I don't see eye to eye on many issues but I respect her tenacity and commitment. Sorry April you were called out in such a manner.
