Looking up the required courses that a Collector or Treasurer has to take in order to become a certified treasurer or Collector, I also saw this statement attached:
Notice to all Treasurers and Collectors:
The use of CMMC or CMMT without having been formally certified by the association is strictly forbidden.
The committee on ethics has the authority to investigate any breach of the code and recommend to the executive board censure, probation, suspension or expulsion from the association.
Question: If Templeton treasurer/collector is not certified, why is there an item within the budget for CMMT in amount of $500.00? Remember, Massachusetts general law states this designation and stipend is only for those treasures and collectors who have taken the training and passed an exam demonstrating a certain amount of knowledge and professionalism. Is it time for a letter to the association to expose this in Templeton?

  1. I guess someone forgot to reas the fine print. I think our town used the money from that account to pay for her training. I will have to double check to make sure I am right. Bev.
