    1. So the Economic Development & Industrial Corporation has 6 vacancies out of 7?

      From the Town website-

The Board of Selectmen is seeking applicants for the Economic Development & Industrial Corporation, which was created on October 10, 2017. Click here to view the Order creating the EDIC. Per the Order, the Board is seeking seven members to serve as the Board of Directors of the corporation. Applicants should be one of the following:

One member shall be experienced in industrial development
      One in financial matters
      One in real estate matters
      One in municipal government
At least one member representative of low income people who shall be chosen from a list of three submitted by the regional or local community action agency or, where there is no such agency, from a list of three submitted by the department of housing and community development.

Candidates who feel they are qualified under one of the above categories should submit a completed form, letter of interest, and resume' via email, in person or mail (P.O. Box 620, 160 Patriots Road, East Templeton, MA 01438) on or before February 21, 2018, at the close of business (4:30 p.m.) for inclusion in and possible appointment at the meeting of February 26, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. Applications received after February 21, 2018, may be included at a March meeting if there are still openings.

Isn't this the second posting for members for this Corporation?

Maybe no one feels qualified? Or maybe they want to get paid?

There are descriptions for 5 out of 7 positions?

Maybe it should have gone to town meeting for discussion before creating the Economic Development & Industrial Corporation?

  2. I'm not so sure the new headline will change the interest level, but its nice to see attempts.......Can someone please point me to the "wonderful committee"....

"The Town has several openings on its' committees. Please see below to see if you are interested in joining, If so, fill out a form and submit it to be appointed to this wonderful committee!"

  3. Oh, just so someone knows. These listings do not show up under the "button" on the Towns websites main page.
    This should probably be fixed......

  4. Can someone answer this question for me. Why do Town Committees have meetings anywhere but Town Hall?

    We have Meeting at:

    Town Hall
    American legion
    Senior Center
    Cross Roads
    Sewer Department
    Community Building
    Light and Water Office

It's truly no wonder we don't act as one town. I do think we should at least hold public meetings in a public building. Holding official Town committee meetings in private establishments is just wrong, period.

Official town business conducted in bars. That's very admirable. Maybe we can get a pot shop or opium den in town. Then we can get some really fine government decisions.

  6. The American Revolution never would have happened, if the rebels didn't meet in "bars".

  7. Ms Farrell aren’t you working on your latest Florida conspiracy theory ? That it was a government plot .. again. The people of this Town need to visit Templeton Times Blog to get a good lesson about Ms Farrell’s grasp of reality. Sitting on a board of a town gives one perceived and real authority to expound on subjects that influence people. They should be held to a higher level of scrutiny and pressed on their individual stances on issues. They have a public platform thru your tax dollar - make them accountable.

      Sarah,

You were once thought to be quite the conspiracy theorist with all your SkyNet this and SkyNet that. Your time in the hospital, being hunted by liquid metal cops.......

Just a thought, but maybe check and see who runs that blog? Or does that really matter to you?

The taverns of 18th century colonial America were places where intelligent men met to discuss current issues. Societies change. There is no good reason to have town committees meet in 21st century bars. We have a town hall. Maybe the Candlelight Cafe would be appropriate for committee meetings.

You're not just Sarah Conner, you're mother of John Conner who trains humanity to fight off the Machines.

Do you usually talk to Jesus, does he respond? If not, what other things do you do over and over again without seeing results?

Just wanted to show you how pointless these types of remarks are towards getting Templeton functioning properly. Now can we get back to TEMPLETONS issues?

Attempting to belittle someone because of their beliefs or lack of belief is at best condescending and at worst, well...........you get the idea.

  10. I’m a resident here in town and I just went to that website that is mentioned by Sarah Conner and am quite appalled by this.

Most Templeton residents are in favor of pot stores. Templeton Times is right up their alley.

  12. I must disagree I for one believe that if a plant determined to be efficacious by the medical community and law makers is something that can be used for those with pain or nausea from chemotherapy as just 2 examples that is not a far out or conspiracy riddled thought process.
That is not what that blog is abou what I saw was all about how the government lies about all those children being killed. I am beyond belief reading that and find this whole discussion disturbing.

Judy - pot makes those "far out" and "conspiracy riddled" theories seem quite reasonable. Visit Northhampton sometimes and attend a public meeting. There are your pot heads, right there.

    1. INTERESTING pot heads you say , and in contrast what police are hero s it all deals with money and behavior you see , so some people I feel those people need something to change the perspective of their persona , The cannabis store Idea is waste of time because the cannabis shops are rip off by the state and towns as to percentage of sales , and their in your books its funny what its turn into , the real money in cannabis is growing for industrial uses / like replacing plastic and insulation and car bodies , and cups ect...

  16. Judy, Can I ask why you are associating this blog with "Templeton times". I dont get it?

It appears Sarah is trolling Julie for some reason. Nothing we need to talk about here.

    1. Isn't that called stalking ? If you don't like a blog, don't read it ! Simple enough. Everyone has the right to believe what they want. That is their right under the U.S. Constitution.

  17. Just for clarification Templeton Times Blogspot 01436 is run by Pete Farrell not his wife Julie. Julie contributes to Pauly's Templeton Watch and does a great job there. Templeton Watch is run by Jeff Bennett who tries to keep the issues on a town level. Templeton Times is a conspiracy blog and does nothing to hide this revelation.

Cam, go back to playing on your 4chan message boards. Your antics here are tired. Training to be a Russian bot are you?
Trying hard to divide the town on hot topic issues? Good luck with that. People way before you cam along already did that kind of damage to our community. Must be getting close to election season.

Why is marijuana illegal? Better yet, why is hemp illegal?

  21. I’m associating Templeton Times not to this site but as a connection to Mrs Farrell ( who I’m very surprised with actually ) as I have known her for years. I agree with the poster Sarah who says a person in town government needs to be held to a higher standard and questioned about their public statements. I find that even more puzzling as she is now associated with Paulys Templeton Watch as well.

  22. Perhaps I should save everyone from themselves and turn off comments? I am wondering how a posting of open committee positions morphed into the above 26 comments. Perhaps the concerned citizenry could or should volunteer for those openings. If one does not like or agree with those people presently serving, step up and take their place. I wonder if we really want people in government to say one thing in public while contradicting that in private. Perhaps this is the larger problem in Templeton; we have little real debate, especially at Town Meeting. We could be headed for less allowed debate/discussion at selectmen meetings. So, why does the agricultural commission meet at a restaurant? Perhaps one of the commenters can find that out and enlighten us.

the agricultural commission meets there because people in this town don't care enough how their government is run.

  24. It's possible people do care about their town but have witnessed the big fish eating the little fish on a regular basis and realize their efforts are often wasted. One example is the new school where people clearly either did not want a new school or were very displeased with putting the school on a very small lot. We ended up with what I believe is a very poor choice of location. After a while people come to believe that this system is running itself from above and the sheep have very little input.

Baldwin Templeton are you typing from your secure tinfoil wrapped location? I think you better stay on your site Templeton Times . There you can say what you really “think “ like : Sandy Hook massacre now Florida massacre was a deep state plot, links from those sites bring you to even crazier links like but not limited to : The ILLUMINATI, and how NATO is evil and picking on poor Putin. Perhaps - it’s not flouride in the water but all the lead, copper, aluminum, tce and pcbs that this town was aware of that leached into the town wells in the 50’s thru ? - that is causing issues and the water dept was I’m sure aware of.

The online course may prevent the spread or transmission of COVID-19 on any specific site or to prevent a safety violation from being issued by a jurisdictional authority. All must continue to comply with all relevant rules and regulations concerning workplace safety and health. HOwever this is not legal advice.

anyone should regularly evaluate their health and safety and apply procedures, as well as to steer clear of large crowds or specific hazards , consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations to determine the appropriate hazard . Analysis safety procedures for inside building or outside project/task as it relates to the spread or transmission of COVID-19. is clear The evidence is in it takes only one person infected to be super conductor YOU may not even know it , it can and will affect all People should incorporate the rules of COVID-19 transmission and prevention these hazard .
