Just letting you know Templeton selectmen have taken the advice of the DOR, sort of; they have entered into a BAN for the five million and have spent approximately 1.4 million on the deficit with regards to that project, with plans to pick up construction in or around December of this year. I have to wonder if the selectmen read or heard that part in the audit report about borrowing five million dollars but not spending it. Guess that went out the window right after you all left the building in June.
You will be glad to know that a budget versus actual report dated June 29, 2017 shows a deficit for the E911 grant fund in the amount of $22,905.00. I am sure the E911 grant administration will be thrilled to hear how Templeton takes care of those funds.

Dave Smart, from my observation a while back Bennett questioned some practices and budgeting of the Highway Dept—a very valid action as well as a responsible one for a member of a financial committee member in a financially crippled town. Somehow you took those actions personally as if it was a personal attack and then lashed out at him. Explain to me how what Bennett did was wrong but your actions towards light and water dept was right?
ReplyDeleteThe REAL issue in Templeton is that all branches of the municipal operations are taking any kind of criticism or inquiries as personal attacks forgetting that citizens have a right—if not a duty—to question and voice opinion on ALL aspects of operation. My view is that any department (even the BOS) should be eager to show operating information as well as answer any questions that come their way. That is, if that department is running properly and has nothing to hide. It seems the majority of our town’s departments are NOT being run properly and are quite defensive because they are aware of mismanagement.
Never have I seen a community where the financial committee—the people designated to protect the tax payers’ money management—is demonized. How stupid is this town? I’m serious. Its like a modern age Twilight Zone episode. Never have I seen a BOS condemn “trash talk” from citizens in an open meeting and simultaneously have members create social media content trash talking backas well as deface the town seal. And especially never seen so many municipal employees “like” said content. Hypocritical leadership.
How can this community restore respect? That means, how can we solve problems without demonizing opposing views? Dave Smart, creating a false enemy “Anon” does not help solve problems and makes anything you say pointless. When was the last time you commented on actual content on a town subject post? It seems you’re more interested in spewing hatred. I dare you to either comment on the content of this post or refrain from commenting. If you respond to this calling me a fake, fraud, coward, snowflake, then you are clearly showing your lack of comprehension. So, anyone have suggestions on HELPING to IMPROVE our COMMUNITY?
Overspending an account is not OK just because another account has enough cushion. There are too many reasons to list.
ReplyDeleteDavid, How does that make sense? How is having $71,000 in leftover salary in one account and overspending another account for payroll worthy of a "pat on the back", please explain?
ReplyDeleteIt again shows me it's less about a money problem and more about a misappropriation/misuse/mismanagement of funds. It's a good thing the money was there to as it was transfered to the snow and ice account which covered items not on the capital plan. Just because it isn't "illegal" doesn't make it the proper way to finance/buy equipment for the town.
The purchase needed to be made. Snow won't wait for the proper way as when the truck fails and needed to be replaced.

To answer you're other question BOB in my opinion there was great management to have left over to turn back to town and Ataboy.
As far as the problem with police and highway issues are another fake news to get a response.
The only response i will give to the nobody behind the coward anon is enjoy your 1.00 donut each month and think of me as you wouldn't have it if i were a Anon Coward like you are.
The pint you make about the calling out of municipal departments is exactly what i was doing or "we" were doing with the L+W machine. You must have been asleep through all that.
So when i would ask a question at a L+W meeting i would receive the same as you state above so what has changed other than Cowards shouldn't ask question without the knowledge of the past treatment of the AC and other parties i would have aligned myself with.
Just ask some fellow AC members and they will tell you what the treatment was at the L+W meetings. Answers to questions came with shocking opinions from commissioners.
When i asked them all to answer what the role of the commissioners was i got 4 different answers.
So when you get a spine and own your posts we'll have a real discussion about what is wrong with this town till then your a coward in mine and many others opinion.
The town has more critics like anons to cause more problems then it needs for it's better future as you call it.
