To selectmen Brooks; try reading your own policy as posted on the Templeton Town web site, it clearly states adopted in the first line:

This policy shall be known as the Town of Templeton Social Media Policy. It has been adopted by the Town of Templeton Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator. The Town Administrator reserves the right to amend any of the provisions of this social media policy for any reason and at any time, with or without notice. This social media policy will be administered by the Town Administrator or their authorized representative.

If it has not been adopted/accepted or voted on, it should not say "adopted". Perhaps you should run that question before Town Counsel, the one you wish to replace. (In my opinion) Maybe that nick name "liars club" actually fits!

  1. Because she and Holly write a policy, that makes it legal ? That makes it adopted ? Just another thing the AG should look at.

  2. Oh what have they done to our town ? Cleaning up government is one thing, but where is the money coming from for the rest of the suggestions the audit people have give the BOS to put in place ? Granted, some of these things should have happened before this, but the reason this did not happen was the same as always. No money !! Once people get their first tax bill, do you really think a override will ever happen ? Not on your life !

I am not surprised. The only people who make out a little bit better are the people who live in elderly housing. Their rent is paid according to their income. No taxes are paid by them .....per Bev on another blog
You wonder why you are described as negative ....they are making out awesome in their 600 sq ft apt w probably less than 100 each month disposable income probably less depending on meds (doubt many voted - inc disabled if u want to degrade them too and be thankful you have good health --- I know people abuse system but ???)...if people don't agree w u they r uneducated or don't care about town...u come across mean, hateful and the only person who could ever care about town. People have different opinions which is good for meaningful discussion ..ask Julie/Jeff the thrill of being selectperson .. no pay, people criticizing you 24/7 ... people who do it care or why would you subject yourself to criticism 24/7 (esp on blogs),countless calls and all the time for no pay.. You should keep people accountable.. you have a voice I hope people hear as you make very valid points .. people should be held accountable and called out if you disagree but agree to disagree.... my opinion is don't attack good people just because you disagree and thank you for all you do

    1. Anonymous, what makes you know so much about me ? If you did know me you would have never made the comments about the state of my health or finances. The only people who know where I stand are my close friends, because I do not make my health public knowledge. Maybe you would be surprised to know that I am as fragile as those who live in Senior Housing, and that my medication takes a huge bite out of what I have to spend every month. I know what is going to happen to the people who have lived close to the edge. That is why I have worked for so many years to try to stabilize our town government. Living in what you refer to as the awesome 600ft. clean warm apartment is much better than some people will ever have. I have never heard of any elderly person being evicted from elder housing, but if I do not pay my taxes, the town will take my home. For the younger people, the bank will take their homes. So unless you know what you are talking about... you get it. Bev.

  4. We did not adopt that policy. I asked for that to be tabled as we had bigger things to worry about. I will speak to Holly and Carter.

  5. And I asked to discuss going out like we do for all other services and the board agreed to put it in the agenda. It's not personal and it's in line with doing our due diligence. Mr. Derensis called me today. He is welcome to come on Monday and I said as much.
