Question: Would you consider it a raise if you were told to work fewer hours but get paid the same as you did while working 40 hours? It appears that is what has happened at Town Hall. Here I thought selectmen were making moves to save money, not give raises.

I don't think the selectmen know how to add.

    1. I think what bothers me most of all is the way the TA blows this off as not a big deal. Most companies would never consider doing such a thing. This extra money could go to something else, seeing there are certainly enough things we could use, and places for it to go. The idea that this is not a big deal may not go over so good with the public and the people living off their .03 Social Security raise.

  2. That's what I said. I was not at that meeting, but I tried to get that vote rescinded. Nope. I was told that move was NEVER to save money, but to make it more efficient. No matter how many times I asked it was the same answer. I disagreed. Then I got sick and haven't recovered yet. I still disagree with the way this was handled. But, majority vote rules.

So the Treas/Collector does not work on Monday nights and so she gets a bigger raise?
