This may not be up your alley, but i made it through it. There just may be something to it; silence can turn into something bad and spread like a cancer and where cancer goes, it is all bad news from there. You may be able to beat it, but perhaps if you are proactive, you can avoid it altogether.
Be proactive, take part, speak up, read, ask questions, attend meetings and vote damn it!
When no one or hardly anyone shows up to vote, that just might be taken as a message that we or they do not care so we can continue doing what we have been doing or we can do what we wish because they do not care. They said this by not showing up, as in you spoke without saying anything.
In my opinion, silence is deadly to democracy, it is the same as saying you agree with what is happening or what is being done along with the way it is being done. The best way to speak in democracy is to vote. Speak by showing up to Town meeting, a board of selectmen meeting, Advisory Committee meeting, something, somewhere.
Do not let this song become the Templeton's theme song.

The Town Administrator and Selectmen want us all to be silent and not ask questions. That is so they can do what they want. Is this what we as citizen want? It is up to us to make our Town government the best it can be to work for us and not them. What say you Templeton?
ReplyDeleteI have spoken to two people who work for local newspapers. I have a hard time believing how little these people know about what is going on in their own communities. It seems they do not read much of what other people have to say in the internet. The "I like paper and ink" person will never know what is going on as long as they get their information from the "paper."
DeleteTown meeting was a huge disappointment to me. All the work we did as Advisory Board members was for not. The fact that the people in the meeting had no clue why we made the changes we did, and chose not to listen. I predict that we will be broke in less than a year when Mr. Markle's budget falls apart.

ReplyDeleteLagit comments that answer his own claims of wrong doing in Templeton.
Fiction not fact of the posted blogs he see's in a different way without the factual evidence needed to do a real Blog.
Check and recheck facts ask a question or two before going to print.
