Zoning is the way a community regulates the use of land. Zoning regulations allow a community to control where different uses occur and under what circumstances. Zoning groups land uses according to their compatibility and separates them to protect the health, safety and general well being of the community. Police Power of zoning allows government, in protecting the public interest, to apply certain limitations to the use and development of private land without the need to compensate for the owner’s loss due to the limitations. However, if the limitations are so restrictive that the land loses its development possibility then the government must pay reasonable compensation.

Zoning is good for this community. Homes with no public water or sewer need the room to put in a decent system with room for expansion. This has not always been the case. Actually there are many problem areas in this town where people have had constant problems because of our one acre requirement back in the old days. Hopefully, newer zoning will make these problems fewer in the future. Frontage requirements are set, even where there is water and sewer. When someone buys land, they buy it as it is. What is reasonable ? Does it depend on who you are ? Does it depend on what group you belong to ? If someone is short a foot or two, does that make it acceptable ? The Building Department has to depend on Town Bylaws to function. The Board of Appeals uses their judgment. I do not agree with the idea that "government" should pay for because someone with very small frontage is being punished because their land does not meet zoning requirements. More than likely it was that way when they bought it, or even worse they created their own problems. When Town bylaws are undermined, it does no one any good. I creates problems for everyone. Just my thoughts on this subject. Bev. Bartolomeo

To many variables for this town to follow. Our Accountant cannot even follow rules, our BOS, TA, ATA, the list goes on and on........

Templeton is not ready, able to follow through on this, we cannot even hit state minimums on affordable housing with this Selectboard, so NO,!

Apparently, that information is not being shared with the public. Ask the Town Administrator ? We are paying him to work for us ! Believe it or not.

I know we've interviewed one Accountant, and it's on agenda to approve for next Wednesday, so maybe. But I do not believe it has been directly addressed to public. The fact that someone is fired or hired in a government setting is not a privileged event as far as I'm aware. It would seem able to be devuldge
