Templeton already voted no on an override and also approved the Narragansett budget. Get to work cutting the general government budget and stop "waiting to see what Phillipston" does. We don't want a long repetitive attempt to jam through an override.

    1. Again, NRSD is a 2 town member district, both towns have to approve the school budget, via each town assessment, until that is done, there is no school budget. Phillipston has already done. Both towns have been "ordered" by DESE to pay via a 1/12 budget scenario, under what regional agreement, I do not know, but the 1/12 budget scenario stands until district wide meet (s) vote a budget or until December 1, when DESE will take over the district budget.

Templeton approved the requested budget. Most likely, the NRSD budget is what we'll end up with. Just like last time in 2012 or thereabouts. You don't "wait" around, you have layoffs.

Templeton voters did not approve the override, so start cutting the general government budget. Stop waiting around for a miracle to save those jobs.

    3. An FYI, both times I have been at a district wide meeting, both times the school budget has been amended, to a lower amount. In 2013, Templeton eventually passed an override to pay the school assessment.

Unfortunately for anonymous, what Jeff has presented is the way this goes. There are procedures he or anyone else in the BOS seat has to follow. This is the same procedure as and every town in Massachusetts has to follow, and its the same thing we have done every time we are in this position. Stupidity, or ignorance is damaging to everyone else that doesn't have a clear understanding of the facts. People want to be educated, that is fine. There are plenty of recordings of meetings to watch over the years. Town Reports have been printed or a very long time. I suggest you sit down and educated yourself. I have, and after a good number of years, still have plenty to learn.
