Alysa Hayden, library advisory specialist at the MBLC, began the session by stating that public libraries have an average 300% return on investment to their communities.
I never went to our library in Templeton until I was in school. It opened my world to adventures I only dreamed of and some beyond my imagination. Black Beauty was the first book I ever read, and it wouldn't be my last. My love for reading has no limits. Buying books is expensive and beyond the financial ability of a lot of people. Borrowing books makes it so much easier especially on the elderly. The library provides something for just about every age group, I know it did for me.
Libraries are politicized today Templeton isn't that bad but Winchendon is more a Community Activist Center. That story mentions some questionable non-library activities.
