WORCESTER – Upset over Superintendent Maureen Binienda’s handling of the district’s remote learning amid the ongoing pandemic, the city teachers union on Tuesday afternoon said it planned on staging a protest Thursday.
Members of the Educational Association of Worcester intend to organize a “Caravan for Public Education” that will drive from the Immaculate Conception parking lot on Grove Street to City Hall on Thursday afternoon.
The union claims Binienda has “crafted an inadequate response to the impact that the coronavirus has had on public education,” referring to the remote learning model that has been in effect since physical schools closed on March 13.
“Superintendent Maureen Binienda is refusing to bargain in good faith with the EAW or to even set up joint management-labor committees,” union president Roger Nugent said in Tuesday’s statement. “The rapid transition to remote learning after schools closed in mid-March continues to present new challenges to students, families and educators. Instead of working collaboratively with those closest to the situation, the superintendent is issuing mandates that are doing more harm than good.”
Binienda on Tuesday afternoon said she had no comment about the union’s statement.
The EAW is calling on the administration to:
‒ Reduce the amount of time teachers are having to spend logging their work.
‒ Take better advantage of classroom support professionals, who the union says are being underused.
‒ More rapidly provide technology to students at home.
‒ Negotiate with the union through joint-labor management committees to find solutions to the schools shutdown.
The association said it has sent a letter detailing those requests to the superintendent.
Hey, How about we use one teacher and share them with multiple other schools?

Can we share teachers with other regional schools.

The government hand out of money is not going to work if anything Government should be testing taking temps and finding those who past the disease along without even knowing their sick / So today we see that a pandemic has force the system of things to have to change and we see the unions are willing to contract to uses the internet well they might had never but its time to take control the owners payer must be educated with the direction they leads to profit not taxes on properties This pandemic has open the door to allow us this municipality Town of templeton to take advance advanage to bankruptcy

Q ( a corporation ? their lawyer will not answer that question > for me can any one please tell ne if they are a corporation ? ,now continuing if you remember the town meeting ago= they sent a rep employee to combat my question to stop the meter advancement the town using its plurality voting system allowed TL&W too continue to install meters, installed them without informing the property owners gave no property surety in any liability , the issue was not even continue by said fathers and mothers of the town . TL&W continue to so up the issue allowing easement of waves which now they have TL&W profit who ? they claim no responsibility in their policy on line The citizen are test subjects , as safety is not matter of bottom line or profit. when just allowing the truth becomes a resistance it becomes a duty to stand against the injustice allowing correct information to be provide is only right not so for TL&W or any who are advancing this program , only being stop by the scince and that being under attack for the profit same old game . as you know their rep said the damage is no more , like he said cell phones levels ...., well people cell phones cause cancer tumors NO one reads the notice in your cell phone not place it near your head or pocket or next to the body ,like the voter who refuses quorum of members of voting public with attitude that current notice is all needs to be done NOw their meters have easement the day is short and virus not dead and all you are to the profit is to continue the habit , the old way ...... remember the laws require public hearing and without such liability is still an issue . The waves like the virus are traveling though property to meter to meter to towers ?? with no signs just like the virus infecting everyone The virus has silver lining its show you all just how you must change OUr government answer one of issuance in money is much like town government not respecting the measure of value of property but using it all to commit more debt The administrator who was hire due to over account of 500,000 , has failed the account now is who knows > the debt who knows , the enforcement of servitude by property is nothing more then being held hostage with a gun . YOU must fix the plurality system of voting first , and then weight must be equation simple , intake , vs debt , if it can not be equalize then throw it back to dogs , as over ride to over ride to over ride is just a lesson in those who can not balance a budge
