Based upon the unaudited balance sheet submitted, I hereby certify that the amount of excess and deficiency or "E & D" as of July 1, 2019 for Narragansett is:

This certification is in accordance with the provisions of G. L. Chapter 71, §16B½, as amended. The unencumbered funds certified above in excess of five percent of the operating budget and budgeted capital costs for the succeeding fiscal year must be applied to reduce the current fiscal year's assessment. For your district, this excess amount equals $0.00.
This certification letter will also be e-mailed to the school superintendent, the board of selectmen in each member town and the city council in each member city immediately upon approval, provided an e-mail address is reported in DLS' Local Officials Directory. $1,437,382 Amount NRSD would get if they accept what Templeton has offered 4 times! Thats right. We've been forced to attend, vote and pay for 3 district wide meetings because a $1,437,382 increase over last years budget is "devastating" to the school.
Thats right folks, an 8% budget increase for the school is "devastating". Just imagine what a realistic increase of 2% would be..........catastrophic??????
C'mon, time for the school system to get a clue, live within means.
I'm reasonably sure the States share went up 3% while they expect the towns to go up 9.77%
