Since I know this will make it to the Templeton board of selectmen, the answer to your call for resignation: NO.
I would like to know when the selectmen will apologize to the Town residents for telling them there is a competent financial team in place and all is well. After hearing an auditor say at a public meeting that the then treasurer/collector did not know her job, citing at least 20 examples, well, it seems apparent the selectmen knew and just kept that smiley face on and every thing is okay. Then the selectmen, through the Town Administrator and a secretary, they hide report of Town finance. They edited/changed or just plain left it out, information from the Advisory Committee regarding the spending of public monies. Now the selectmen say that information will be in the financial report sometime in the future. I will be comparing it with what was submitted.
So to recap selectmen, as for me resigning from the Advisory Committee: pound sand, it is not happening.

Public elected officials using their official position to further their personal agendas. Using their position in an attempt to punish those who would criticize them. It is not like the four named people in this with hunt complaint are facing prison time or anything. I will speak for myself, I will not stop, I will not shut up, this blog will not go away, the posting of public information will not stop. There is nothing to gain from the selectmen's action other than to try and get people in town to ignore the Advisory Committee. That has already happened and then there was the Division of Local Services saying they offered help in 2016 and they were rebuked and ignored. Hey, the selectmen were busy writing a contract with the Collins Institute for at least 10 thousand of your dollars while they ignored help and assistance for zero future dollars. The DLS is a state agency that is already paid for by state taxes.

With this latest set of front page newspaper articles, selectmen have accomplished nothing. Solved nothing and showed their true colors, agree with us or else! (in my opinion)

  1. Great points Jeff.

I've got to say. I'm sick and tired of hearing how upset the town employees are to hear the criticism of things like the town website. The website is a mess. It's disorganized, inaccurate and great example of the CARE some PAID employees put into the job. I'm not pointing at every employee, never did. We have some fine employees, volunteers who do an amazing job. Thats why this apparent lack of concern regarding our face, yes, thats what the webpage is, our face to the community, is so aggravating. It's little different from the Town Hall. If the Town Hall was in the shape of our webpage it would fall down. The website is our Digital Town Hall and its a disaster.
The taxpayers are paying for this service. How much do we have to pay to have something that is functioning, accurate. Why have we not been told, why no adjustment in budget?
How much do we have to pay have our Policies/Procedures followed. Thats right. Those Policies/Procedures are the TOWNS not the BOARDS. These policies are so TAXPAYERS can have some semblance of consistent government. When our Town Leaders avoid these policies, violate these policies its violating the trust, oath they took to the Taxpayers! Dont bring it up, or you face GROUP Public ridicule. Thats right, the entire Executive Administration will violate employee policies, Ethical guidelines, OML regulations. This is all political distraction. Wasting Taxpayers time. Creating excuses.

I found another thing very curious. Learning a lot I don't like. Did the Taxpayers of Templeton know just how their Committee are filled? It appears that once you are nominated (and the Executive Administration creates an accurate list) the only way they change is if someone leaves or disagrees with the Executive Administration and is removed or disgusted enough to leave. It appears all Committees in Templeton are like Judgeships, lifelong, unless you choose otherwise. This does not make for modern government, effective government. This leads to "ask JOE, He's been here 40 yrs and has all the files in the back of his truck" type of management. I'd like a nickel for every time in the past month I've asked a question and received " we usually do it" or "in the past it was done". Is it any wonder we have such a spotty record of following Policies/Procedures.

    The taxpayers deserve better!
