Advisory Committee training costs $1,000.00 plus $350.00 cloud access fee - pro-rated from January 2018 until June 30, 2018 @ $350.00 = total cost to taxpayers for this year = $1,350.00.
a small expense but an unnecessary one if the accountant would just print the correct reports. funny how this was never a problem before - so much for open government.
In Templeton, we have the "Deep Town". Similar to what's happened in the federal government. Employees who consider themselves fully autonomous. This gang of simpletons on the BOS go along with this crap.
I do agree this is an expense that I would rather not incur, but (always the, but right) I think the more eyes looking at the numbers the better. Due to the access the Advisory Committee now has we should be able to dive into the numbers as deep as possible on the system without any concern of the content being adjusted or changed as AC only has read only access. At present I think its money well spent. It doesn't require us to maintain this system for ever.
So every morning when I'm getting on rte 2 heading to work, on top of ladder hill, there appears to be water in the middle of the road which I'm convinced now is a water main break. I saw a town truck stopped and look at it one afternoon but nothing has been done. I could be wrong but it just never goes away. Are they maybe waiting till a warm Friday afternoon so can make a weekend of overtime on it?
Is the leak on Rt 2A? That's a state highway. If it is a water leak, and there have been water leaks at that location in the past.
If there is a water leak on a state highway, it costs more to fix because of the State requirements in repairing the road after fixing the water main.
The water department budget probably doesn't have the money to fix the break. Cheaper to let it leak.
After the cost of the new water tower, with Templeton's water rates being one of the highest in the state, the commissioners may be reluctant to increase the rates - yet again.
I think your referring to Eric who is the "Management Fellow". It's pretty much his job to second the TA. From what I've seen Eric has a pretty good head on his shoulders and asks questions that are on point and relevant.
At one time, the town could rely on The Templeton Municipal Light to contribute from 50k to 100k a year. The light commissioners felt they worked for the people of Templeton..That died with some very good men. This is the truth. You can check your Annual Town Reports..
As far as I can recollect, not long ago, we got zip from the Light Commissioners..They had decided that they did not want to give us money. The thought was that the it would be "wasted", so they would do a project. Well no project could be decided on, so we got zip ! How our TA got the commissioners to contribute to buy equipment last year,is beyond me. Maybe he held their feet to the fire.
For more years than I care to think about, people have felt the Town and the Light Commissioners should have had agreed on a set price for a PILOT. That is a "payment in liu of taxes"' basically this was not needed in the past because they always gave more.
Anyway, this is why our Annual Reports are important! The truth should be there for tomorrow and for years after. They are the only record of what we did right and , for future generations.

ReplyDeleteis it not the accountants and treasurers job to provide finances reports?

Print out articles from the Templeton Infowars Blog and shove it in there to stop the leak.
ReplyDeleteArticles from Pauly's Templeton Watch do not meet the state requirement for road repairs.
Deletewho is the puppet with the TA at the AC meeting? he says here is this give me that to the poor guy.
