Winchendon selectmen listen to the people; they have pulled the plug, so to speak, on the sharing of a Town manager/Town Administrator. Now, Templeton selectmen will have to act and do something. Can you say more Carter Terenzini?

For selectmen meeting on Monday, September 25, 2017, executive session for negotiation of non-union personnel - Town Administrator.

In Town hall on Thursday, September 21, 2017, auditor Tony Roselli, MJ Handy from the DOR.

  1. What is the story, we do not pay our bills ? With all the money we have paid our administration, the dam bills don't get paid! Just what we need, someone to make our town look worse than it is ! Thanks a lot ! DO YOUR JOB, or get out ! I hope I am not the only one that is embarrassed! Bev.

  2. I dont get the "News"........whats this about not paying our bills???

The agenda for Mondays BOS covers "Exec session" for something with the TA. This has gone on long enough!!!!

C'mon, hire a full time TA and removing Carter while it happens would be a good start.

    1. The story in the News was not the least bit flattering. Look at this. "Resident Deb. Giordano said regionalization with Templeton was not something she could support. She said she once worked for the Town of Templeton and saw the political disarray, and it has not improved because they don't have a full time town manager. She said the selectmen in Templeton have a history of cancelling contracts with other towns. She suggested the selectmen talk to Hubbardston. She said that Templeton had issues with paying their percent of the bills and broke the contract. She said Templeton tried with Gardner, and it turned out the same. "Templeton is a wonderful town". I know quite a few people there, and most of them do not want this contract", she said". So how do you like that ? Who is this woman ? If she is right, then we have problems that have reached way beyond our borders. Now, I would rather have our own full time TA, but having to share with Winchendon was a better choice than where we are now. The town needs someone that will plan for the future, not just trying to get thru the fiscal year with no plan for the next one. Not keeping the Fire Chief because you need the money, is not a way to plan. Shorting the Highway Dept. by two men during the summer when a large amt. of work can get done, then allowing a person to be hired based on having relatives in town government, instead of qualifications is not acceptable. We have had two very poor examples of leadership in this town, that have allowed our situation to get worse instead of better. This is not on the TA's alone, but they own a great share of the blame. Would we as a town, be in this mess if the people who were supposed to do their jobs actually did them ? Pretty easy answer, don't you think. So now that the neighbors on both sides of us want nothing to do with our town, I would think it is time to demand accountability from our Selectmen. Why when it was no secret that our treasurer could not do her job did these people allow her to stay, on and on ? As a result of their inaction we are where we are right now. We do not need a spin doctor, we need a real TA, one that will work to get us on track after we have been spinning in place for way to long. Now this is my opinion, like it or not. Bev.

  5. I just read through the BOS agenda pages. Man, it sure seems like our TA spent alot of time discussing the Templeton/Winchendon arrangement before one was even in place. Why was so much time and effort put into an idea that had not truly become a plan. This seems to me to be a poor use of the hours in the mans contract. We have plenty of real, present, ongoing issues to address before we send him on "potentials".

How much time was spent by our paid staff preparing for an agreement that was never made and is now dead? Inefficient, ineffective and still unsuccessful in filing one position for 4 years. Monday better not end with an extension to Carter................

    1. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone should be surprised this was a no go. I pretty much figured it was not going any place, weeks ago. Thank goodness Winchendon did not wait until November to tell us.

Why does the COA building looked closed? There was no one at the building after 9 am.
