More issues on finance.
Some information from latest emails out of Templeton Town hall indicate quite a few financial transfers (again) for FY16 budget. Most concern salary calculations of employees, including members of the "financial team" going back two years. There is it seems a need to put back approximately 45 thousand dollars into the firefighter/ems salary account. It would appear that this train is still not back on the tracks correctly yet, despite the pretty picture that seems to be always coming from the BOS. Not that "the sky is falling" is needed or warranted but perhaps some plain straight talk would be nice, be it sunny or cloudy and I am sure residents would appreciate that. This in my opinion, is another reason for no pay for elected officials!
I wonder how the estimates on free cash are going, seeing how the books for FY13 are not done yet, despite all the work and dollars being spent on that work. One continuing question is figures applicable to revised fiscal 16 budget on the estimate for FY17 seem to be around 200 thousand dollars short or different from the numbers on the budget versus actual sheets that regularly come from the Town accountant who has been very helpful with getting this information so far. There seems to be a reluctance to address this question so far, but it is not going to go away.
